About the workshop

What is this workshop?

This is a talk and a workshop from the arsenal of DesignUp.School. It is designed to arm you with knowledge and skills that are vital for a professional. The talk helps product teams to understand brand assets that are foundational or essential, gateways that bridge the narrative and campaigns for your brand/business. This workshop will explore hypotheses that tunes a product team to construct great messaging and experience architecture from awareness, engagement and retention of consumers/users.

You should attend if you have 3+ years experience and you are / are in:

  • Founding Teams and Product Managers - To understand how to connect marketing, user experience and user retention.

  • Marketing Teams in Startups/Enterprises - To understand the strength of good brand articulation and communication

  • Social Media Teams - To create connected stories anchored in the brand than individual posts

  • Strategists in Advertising - To articulate their insights and brand directives better

  • Creative Professionals in Advertising - To understand the context of the business, the brand and respond

  • Designers + Design Teams - To re-establish empathy and look at user experience as a larger mission that starts outside the product

  • 60-minutes of talk

  • 60-minutes of group workshop (upto five in a group)

  • 30-minutes of sharing work and feedback

Why the host?

Shiva is a part of the Core Team at DesignUp.School and has been instrumental in designing the curriculum framework. He is also a coach at Executive Programs at IIM-Bangalore, Ogilvy Pennywise, Mullen Lowe, Lintas, Indian Institute of Art and Design and other design firms.

Meet your host

Shiva Viswanathan

Shiva Viswanathan has three decades of experience in design as a business. He was the Founder and Director of Apparatus Media Lab, a brand and user experience studio from 2003 to 2013. Apparatus was acquired by WPP/Ogilvy India. He was ECD Digital, Ogilvy and further MD, Brand Union in India. Now he is the Co-Founder/CMO of Catenate, Senior Design Consultant at Ogilvy Pennywise, and a Director at DesignUp.
